Christmas robin craft – Crafty Little Chimps Advent countdown December 15

Christmas robin craft - fun with toddlers
This Christmas robin basket/tree decoration is great fun with toddlers!

What you need!

  • Paper plate
  • Brown crepe paper
  • Red crepe paper
  • Glue
  • Brown card
  • Orange card
  • Yellow card
  • Googly eyes
  • Pipe cleaner
  • Sticky tape
  • Scissors
  • Stapler

How to make it!

1. Take a paper plate and cover the non-eating side in brown crepe paper (or you can paint it brown if you prefer)

2. Cut the plate in half and staple the two halves together around the bottom edges

3. Cut out some red crepe paper and glue on the bottom and side of the plate as the robin’s red breast.

4. Cut out a circle out of brown card to use as the robin’s head

5. Cut out a yellow beak shape (triangle worked for me!) and stick on the head

6. Add some googly eyes to the head.

7. Use the orange card to cut out some leg shapes and glue them to the bottom of the plate.

8. Cut out some wing shapes from the brown crepe paper and glue onto the side of each plate.

9. Take a pipe cleaner and tape each end to the inside of the plate to create a little handle.

10. Enjoy your robin! You can use it as a little basket or a tree decoration.
